Auckland Central Library is an inclusive and welcoming space to read a book or magazine and to access free WiFi and computers.
They also can help you connect with a range of fun, free activities.Computers and WiFiAuckland Libraries offer free WiFi and computer use at all of their libraries. If you do not have a library card, speak with a staff member to log in as a guest or get your own free library card (requires ID and proof of address which can be Auckland City Mission!). You can drop in and use an available computer, join a queue for the next available, or book your computer online in advance on Auckland library’s website.
Computer sessions are either 15, 30 or 60 minutes depending on the library and you can use the computers for four sessions per day.
Monday Movie Club
A free movie screens on Monday mornings at 10am on level two in the Whare. There is free morning tea beforehand. Please see library staff for more details.
City Mission Book Club
The City Mission Book Club meets at Auckland City Library on Wednesdays at 2pm in the Te Mārama room on level 1. You can bring along a book you are reading to discuss, or just enjoy the company over coffee & tea. Please see library staff for more details.
Karapu pānui Māori – Te reo Māori reading group
The Te Reo Māori reading group meets at Auckland City Library every Monday at 5:30pm in the Te Mārama room on level 1. Te Reo Māori reading group is a fun, enjoyable way to practice your Te Reo Māori and all levels of speaking are welcome, including beginners. Please see library staff for more details.
Reading Revolution – Reading aloud group
The Reading Aloud group meets every Friday at 3pm in the Te Mārama room on level 1. Enjoy reading a great short story, followed by a group discussion over coffee & tea. Please see library staff for more details.
